Skype is a communications program with the latest P2P (peer to peer). This program is a free program (can be downloaded free of charge) and made with the purpose of providing a means of voice communication (voice)-based low-cost high-quality Internet for everyone in the world. Skype users can talk to other Skype users for free, with the cost of traditional phone calling (SkypeOut), receive calls from traditional phones (SkypeIn), and receive voice messages. Skype technology invented by entrepreneurs Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis, the same people who invented Kazaa and Joost (P2P for television). Skype and VoIP to compete with open protocols that already exist such as SIP, IAX, and H.323. Skype Group which was formed in September 2003 and then purchased by the giant Internet auction company in America e-Bay in September 2005 and is headquartered in Luxembourg, Germany-antor with offices in London, England, Prague, Russia, and San Jose, California, USA
Since its launch Skype has experienced rapid growth both in its use are popular as well as the development of its software, services offered was a range from the use of free or paid. In just a few short years in April 2006 Skype has 100 million users.
